This sculptural work began with exploring found object designs. I found this child’s rocking chair at a small thrift shop in Tampa, FL. I wanted to visually represent the way in which childhood memories can be “corroded” by the awareness and understanding we gain as we age and look back at past experiences. The base on which the chair is connected to is a direct cut out of the shadow the chair creates, this represents the lasting effect memories cast on our lives.
